BLUE AND
GOLD Officers
•
U.
S. Naval Academy Information Officers or Blue and Gold Officers
(BGO's) are local area representatives for the Academy who
explain the requirements for entrance to the Naval Academy
as well as career opportunities after graduation in the Naval
service (Navy and Marine Corps). They also coach, counsel
and assist qualified young men and women in the application
process to obtain a nomination from a nominating source (e.g.,
US Senator or Representative) and an appointment from the
Academy. Each BGO is assigned responsibility as a point of
contact for and a representative of the Academy for high schools
near where they live or work. To obtain the name and phone
