The
U.S. Naval Academy Parents Club of the Texas Gulf
Coast is a non-profit organization open to all persons interested
in the Naval Academy, with membership composed primarily
of parents of current and former midshipmen, who have the
common goal of furthering the objectives of the club, which
are:
To help parents of midshipmen become better informed about
the Naval Academy, about life at the Academy, and about
career opportunities after graduation.
To provide opportunities for parents of midshipmen
to share ideas on how to help the midshipmen cope with the
victories, frustrations and defeats while at the Academy.
As a group, to recognize the achievements of the
midshipmen and communicate these accomplishments to the
community. Also, to communicate to the midshipmen the support
of parents and friends for their contribution to our country
and our community.
To
accomplish these objectives, the Club:
Meets four or five times a year to exchange ideas, to hear
speakers, and to receive information about the Academy.
Guest speakers are usually USNA alumni who are able to provide
the parents with a unique perspective of life at the Academy
and valuable information about naval career paths.
Participates in the annual Inter-Service Military
Ball held to honor the students of the military academies
and serves as a member on the joint committee that organizes
this event.
Honors the graduating midshipmen from the Texas Gulf
Coast area each year with an appropriate memento of our
recognition of their accomplishments.
Annual
membership dues are $35.00 per family
